Have your Master of Nursing and want to strengthen your adult/gerontological care practice? This fully accredited, 33-credit program focuses on advanced clinical decision-making and critical-thinking skills. It also prepares you to more accurately assess the health of adults of all ages and respond more appropriately to those you treat. You’ll work closely with faculty advisors to plan your course of study and stay on track.

Consider this certificate program if you’re an RN with an MSN and you’d like to become a more highly trained adult/gerontological primary-care nurse practitioner.

Curriculum
This post-master certificate program is designed for registered nurses who have earned a master’s degree in nursing and wish to become Adult Gerontological Primary Care Nurse Practitioners. After completing the program, graduates can sit for the Adult Gerontological Primary Care Nurse Practitioner national certification exam.
The program consists of 33 credits:
- NURS 503: Pharmacology for Advanced Nursing Practice
- NURS 504: Advanced Human Pathophysiology
- NURS 603: Individual, Family, and Community Systems
- NURS 633: Advanced Holistic Health Assessment
- NURS 636: Primary Care I
- NURS 637: Primary Care III
- NURS 638: Primary Care II
- NURS 690: Practicum in the Nurse Practitioner Role
