Career and Technical Education Certificate

At a Glance

Alternate path licensure programs allow people with bachelor’s degrees or demonstrated expertise in a subject area to earn a teaching credential over two years while working as teachers. The Career and Technical Education (CTE) 12-credit certificate awards credit for prior learning to educators involved in an hours-based, state-approved alternate path licensure program that prepares them for teaching in one of the CTE fields. Only candidates with bachelor’s degrees would be eligible for the CTE Certificate program.  This certificate will be eligible for inclusion in the Master of Arts in Educational Studies, which allows candidates to complete two graduate certificate courses and a capstone project to obtain a master’s degree.
