BA in Anthropology

At a Glance

Study anthropology and gain a deeper understanding of human beings, past and present. You’ll examine the complexity of cultures across all of human history, drawing and building upon knowledge from the social and biological sciences as well as the humanities and physical sciences. Anthropology has four main areas of focus — archaeology, biological anthropology, linguistic anthropology, and sociocultural anthropology — and in this program, you’ll pay particular attention to applying knowledge to the solution of human problems.

Careers

As a TCNJ anthropology graduate, you’ll be well-prepared to launch your career or to pursue graduate studies. Students have gone on to careers in education, education policy, social work and counseling, data analytics, nonprofit and advocacy positions, cultural resource management, marketing, and human resources. Other students have pursued law school, medical school, or graduate programs in public health, public policy, urban planning, social work, sociology, environmental studies, statistics, or data science.
