Careers
You’ll graduate with the practical skills, insights, and experience to attract prospective employers or graduate programs. Many TCNJ international studies graduates have received competitive postgraduate fellowships, including Fulbright, Pickering, and Boren.
Roughly half of TCNJ international studies graduates continue their education in law or graduate programs. About a quarter typically launch careers in public service for the U.S. government, foreign embassies, or nongovernmental organizations, while the final quarter choose to work in the private sector, typically for firms with an international focus.

Study Abroad 
International studies majors must study abroad for at least one semester to broaden their understanding of other cultures and help inform future academic and career pathways. TCNJ’s Arlotto Family Center for Global Engagement offers over 100 different study abroad sites, with international studies students often opting to study across Africa, Asia, Europe, and South America.
Internships
Students are encouraged to seek internships with an international focus in fields related to their interests, where they may apply skills and earn academic credit. Students may pursue internships regionally (New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C.) or enroll in internships while studying abroad. Students can also gain experience on campus by participating in related organizations and clubs.
Students have recently interned at the likes of Amnesty International, Atlantic Records, Bank of America, Catholic Charities, Council on Foreign Relations, International Rescue Committee, Italian American Chamber of Commerce, State of New Jersey, Tetracycle, U.S. Department of Justice, and the United Nations.
