The interdisciplinary business program is designed for students seeking the broad-based skills and perspective to succeed in the fast-changing business world. Instead of concentrating on one business area, you’ll take advanced courses in various disciplines. This gives you the flexibility to customize your curriculum while building a strong foundation in the functional areas of business. All interdisciplinary business students work closely with advisors to develop a program of study that fits their specific academic and career goals.

Accelerated/Dual-Degree Program Options
Get a jumpstart and enter the workforce with a master’s or professional degree. Accelerated options get you there faster and more affordably through fewer semesters of classes. Dual degrees offer a streamlined path to earning two degrees, often with direct admission to the graduate portion.
LAW
Interdisciplinary Business + Law, BSBA/JD
Third-year juniors may follow a six-year (3+3) accelerated pathway, and graduating seniors may follow a seven-year (4+3) traditional pathway to gain direct admission to law school in this highly selective dual-degree program with Villanova University’s Charles Widger School of Law.

Careers
As an interdisciplinary business graduate, you’ll be well-prepared for a successful career in sales, finance, management, or entrepreneurial pursuits. Nearly all of our students complete at least one internship before graduating, which can lead to full-time employment. Career opportunities span several sectors, including law, government, public policy, nonprofit, information technology, marketing, and more.
Many of our students choose to continue their studies in leading graduate programs for global business and strategy, global management, organizational dynamics, or organizational leadership.

Tracks
The interdisciplinary business program is an excellent choice for those with passions beyond business. You can create your own path, designing a custom curriculum that connects business with career sectors from government to music to engineering to healthcare.
- Take courses across various business disciplines rather than in one area.
- Business studies are complemented with courses outside of the business school.
- All students work with an advisor to develop a purpose-driven program, which includes four interdisciplinary option courses and a secondary focus of study.
- You’ll be prepared to pursue a variety of disciplines, including humanities, sciences, and social sciences.

Interdisciplinary business students participate in a variety of internship opportunities.
Our students have landed internships in:

- Government and nonprofit organizations (American Cancer Society, the White House)
- Media and communications (CBS Studios, NBCUniversal, Sirius XM)
- Sports and entertainment (Madison Square Garden, New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority, Trenton Thunder)
Study Abroad
IDB majors have the opportunity to study abroad for a full semester or a shorter summer or winter term in more than 50 countries. In many cases, tuition for foreign study is the same as that of TCNJ. By studying abroad, you’ll gain a better understanding of yourself and the interrelationship of global business culture. You will also increase your intercultural communication skills, explore new cultural settings, and gain exposure to foreign businesses, governments, and authorities.
Student Organizations
Interdisciplinary business students are encouraged to participate in the school’s business-specific student organizations, which offer high student involvement and dedicated faculty advisors.

Our faculty members reflect the wide range of disciplines within marketing and interdisciplinary business, from psychologists who understand consumer behavior to lawyers who study ethics, business regulation, and public policy.
