Dual-Degree Program Options
Get a jumpstart on your future through TCNJ’s articulation agreement with the Jefferson College of Pharmacy, which enables you to apply to and enroll in an early assurance program for both institutions as a first-year student. Either of the two pathways below will put you on the fast track to a successful career.

About the Jefferson College of Pharmacy
As part of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, the Jefferson College of Pharmacy is a partner in one of the country’s most successful and highly recognized interprofessional healthcare learning environments. The college, located in Philadelphia, is a dynamic center of education recognized for progressive care, practice, education, and research.
Eligibility Requirements
You must apply as either a biology or chemistry major and take all prerequisite courses at TCNJ, with the exception of non-science courses through AP, IB, or dual credit at another college.
You are required to have a reasonable plan to complete all required prerequisite courses — with at least a C in each — prior to August 1 of the year of your matriculation to the Jefferson College of Pharmacy. Cumulative and science GPAs must be better than 2.7.
Application Process
- Submit the Common Application by either the general admission or early decision deadline.
- By the end of your first year of full-time enrollment at TCNJ, submit a separate application to either the Department of Biology or the Department of Chemistry for admission to the early assurance pharmacy program.
- During your junior or senior year, complete a PharmCAS application to be submitted to the Jefferson College of Pharmacy for potential interview consideration and final admission review. Acceptance into the doctoral program is not guaranteed.
