We study — and question — how gender and sexuality intersect with race, class, and other identities to mold ourselves and our social structures. Rigorous coursework across disciplines is paired with opportunities for global study, activism, and community engagement. You’ll be empowered to thrive in a variety of careers through one of the earliest and most fully developed programs of its kind nationwide.
Undergraduate Program Options
MAJORS
Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, BA
Inclusive Education (BS) and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Dual Major
New Jersey teacher certification in grades P–3 or K–6 and additional endorsements

Experiential Learning 
This program provides a framework for developing skills such as cultural competency and effective communication in a complex, interconnected world. You will complete an internship to put what you have learned into meaningful practice in the local community or with national or international organizations. You may also choose to pursue collaborative research opportunities with faculty through study abroad or on-campus programs throughout the year or in the summer; you’ll find several relevant student organizations on campus.
Faculty
Our accomplished faculty strive to inspire and empower you by teaching you the skills to lead and work for social justice while supporting the pursuit of deeper individual understanding. Each student has a faculty advisor to help guide and mentor them throughout the program.
